November 17 Olympic Torch Relay FeverYesterday morning my mother & I went to watch as the olympic flame was carried thru our town. It was nice to see such an event take place here & for the first time too! I got flags & free pop from the Coca Cola as they are one of the sponsor's. The small bottles of pop make nice collectibles. The flavour was Coca Cola Zero & I found it taste like the old Tab pop - lol! Does anyone remember Tab - lol? I don't know if its still being made anywhere but thats what it taste like! I met one of the torch bear carriers. Her name is Savanna & she is from Halifax. She looked liked she was in her early 20's & came all the way here to carry the torch. She was nice to allow me to get a picture with her. Since I'm not a torch bearer I might as well get a picture with one - lol! The high light of the relay was the last torch bearer finishing by the town hall. I never met the guy but he was impressive! His name is Duncan MacKeigan. He is 85 years old & a WW2 vet! He was in a wheel chair for the first half of his relay & walked the rest of the way! It was awesome to see one our vets be a part of this terrific event! To you Mr. MacKeigan I salute you - awesome!!! It was reported by one of our local radio station's that each torch bearer can buy thier torch for $400.00 after they do thier relay as a keep sake. Even though i'm not a sports fan it was nice to feel apart of the olympic spirit! Being on home turf I hope our Canadian athletes bring home the gold in the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics!
November 10 Gone To The Dogs Not my dogs because I don't have any pets!
Just when I thought I'd seen everything on this street I get a suprise! It was yesterday between 12pm - 1pm I spotted these 2 locked in position - hehe! Well at least somebody was getting some action - lol! My mother was mortified while I just laughed! You would swear she owned one of the dogs with the way she acted. Heck she didn't even want anyone to see me take pics of those dogs because she thought people might think I was a perv. I stopped caring what people think of me a long time ago & if anyone doesn't like me for who I am well then they can all F OFF! I figured since I didn't have something to blog about I would throw this on here - hehe! Sorry about the crappy quality. I have a real crappy digital camera & I used the digital zoom - pfft! Two jr high school students were heading back to school when one of them whistled at the dogs & the other one said I should call animal control. Needless to say I didn't call them - not like they were going to come over here asap - pfft! Would you want to get in the middle of that if you were an animal control officer - lol? It was amazing they didn't get killed because they were all over the road. After they finally got off the road they decided to separate & went on their marry way!

October 31 Halloween 2009
That's not me - lol!
That is a costume I threw over the post at the bottom of the stairs - lol! It was a last minute decision thing on my part. I figured since Halloween is my favorite time of the year I would at least put something up. Last year I have a better display set up - hehe! We had 34 rug rats & ankle biter's at the door this year. They were very polite too - even the bigger kids - surprisingly. That was a treat in itself - lol! It was a good day for trick-or- treaters - weather wise that is. It was over cast & the temperature was 14°C with the winds from the SW but it was windly! Funny when I was a kid going out trick-or-treating it was usually chilly & I had to wear mittens - lol! It's too bad I wasn't a kid again because I do miss going around looting the streets of all it's candy - LOL! Although the day wasn't entirely uneventual. After 1am this morning someone delibertly set an old vacant house on fire! That house was just up the road from yours truly & apparently there were other places set on fire around here too - oh joy! You know what I didn't see on tv this year? I never saw the Charlie Brown or the Garfield Halloween special. The Garfield one was always my favorite Halloween special! Even at 36 I will still sit down to watch it - LOL! Can't beat the classics - hehe! There is a full moon tonight so if your a spell caster then tonight's the night for you! I have a request to any spell caster's out there! Would you please do a good luck spell for me? I sure could use some good luck now! We have left over plain chips made by Old Dutch. Old Dutch should be called Old Crap because thats what they are is crap! I guess I will have to throw some vinegar on them to make it half decent to eat - lol! Happy Halloween to one & all!

Nothing like a good bbq story involving hair being singed - lol! Ya your teacher was very lucky indeed! Hope she had insurance on her house - hehe! As for the compliment - well its true you are a whiz at photo editing. I've seen the Frosty & Ruldolph specials too - lol! You actually like The Sound of Music - are you kidding me - lol? Every time I see that stupid ad of Julie Andrews twirling & singing I just want someone to push her down the hill - lol! I can't change the channel fast enough when she's on the air - lol! Ya now that Halloween is over we will be bombarded with Christmas crap ads - oh joy! Halloween is my Christmas - hehehe! October 23 So True & Funny Too! It's too bad I didn't see this sign at some of the site's i've been at. I would have liked to see the looks on the driver's faces - LOL! I mean really if you know there's road work being done then there's no reason why you can't make plans to take a different route or leave early. Yet some drivers are just plain stupid & complain anyway - pfft! Sorry folks I just can't feel sorry for you! You deserve what you get - a nice little wait for the pilot vehicle - lol!

Ya its amazing I found something to write about - lol! Your right sometimes a person does have to just sit there in traffic & suck it up for sure. Good thing the snow turned to rain because you won't have to do any shoveling. Don't blame ya for not wanting to walk on frozen water - hehehe! Glad you enjoy the pic & hope your day is a good one too Isa bella. Shows you what I know about sports now doesn't it - hahaha! No one can you don't like sports - lol! I've never heard of "The Attic Dweller" - lol! I'll send you an email after my virus scan which should be starting in another 29 minutes. Got it & sent a reply back. Maybe your internet connection got washed out when you got flooded out again - hehe! That sucks nothing showed up in Safe Mode. Did you try Last Good Known Configuration option? Good to hear that your getting your pc looked after. Anything is possible when it comes to getting a virus or a worm on a pc. The main thing to make sure is you have all the recent Windows Updates. Make sure you enable Windows Firewall & have another firewall running too! Last but not least make sure you have anti virus program installed & keep those definations up to date! Your welcome! It's just too bad we didn't get the problem resolved. I don't mind lending a helping hand. My week will be a better one when next week arrives - lol! Since I don't have a social life i'll be giving out junk food to the future young offenders that come to the door & playing the role of watch dog to make sure nobody does anything to the house.
October 22 Knock Off or Not?Does anyone remember Star Trek: Voyager? That series was about a ship that was thrown half way across the galaxy which the crew struggled to find their way back to Earth. If your a sc-fi fan like me you would of seen the new Stargate series called Stargate Universe. This series is about people being on a ship with no end in sight of getting back to Earth but are trying to. Sound familar? Both series are lost in space flying to parts unknown & meeting alien cultures. Some differences are that on Stargate Universe is that half the people haven't got a clue about military life or how to operate a ship but on Voyager they did. The ship is apparently nearly drained of its resources & is taking it's "crew" to planets where it can apparently get those resources but for a limited time because someone left the auto pilot on which means the ship will take off to its next stop. With Voyager the ship was under control of its crew so they made their own stops. I'll be suprised if Stargate Universe last half as long as Stargate Atlantis. Stargate Atlantis didn't last too long but I would like to see Atlantis resurrected! Is Stargate Universe a knock off of Star Trek Voyager? In my opinion its yes! You could tell that in the promo's before the series even started. What do you think?

Hope your snow blower is all gased up or better still hope for some rain to wash it away. October 21 Crappy RainThis rain sucks! As far as i'm concerned this month has been a total wash out. Ever since Oct rolled in all it has been doing is raining. The only good thing about the rain is that I don't have to shovel it. Other than that I can't get stuff completed outside until this rain lets up. I actually saw I llittle bit of sun late this evening just before night time rolled in. So I couldn't really do anything in the yard - pfft! Hey Mother Nature I would like to order some sun shine please!

Ya it won't be too long before that white crap arrives - pfft! Unfortunately I don't have a show blower but my neighbor does - hehehe! I refuse to wear my winter jacket but yesterday I actually thought about - scary! However I did end up wearing mittens & that was last month. Those weather predictors probably look out the window when they are trying to predict the weather around here - lol! Oh ya Isa bella i'll put in a request for some good weather for you too if I ever get talking to Mother Nature - hehe! Granny panties are not in my plans at all - LOL! As much as I don't want to see any of that white crap I rather have the rain instead. Our forecast is calling for 30% of showers but so far I have seen a mix of sun & cloud. October 19 Odd ProductSo there I was watching tv Sunday evening when I saw a commerical for a dog mat. Apparently this dog mat is used only for when a dog needs a pee. There are no replacement mats & apparently the liquid(as they put it) falls below with out any smell so you can easily empty it. The dogs they showed going to the mat just sat on it. I actually expected a product demonstration - lol! After all if your selling a product there should be a demo of it proving that it works right? I can't see this product selling too well. I can't see Rover aiming to well once he lifts his leg - lol! The product would work better with Fluffy because she can squat so her aim will be much better! I guess if they need to get rid of any other material they will have to find a nice spot for the owner to find - lol! Who needs to start off their morning with Folgers in their cup when they can have poo in the corner & I don't mean Winnie - hehe! If I see the ad again I put up the web site.

I wouldn't put a dog in that machine - i'd put the one who came up with that idea in it instead Isa bella - lol! On that ad I saw they said it was scented to attract the dog to it - ya ok - lol! Wow you sure buring the night time oil - lol! With Bios your mouse will definetly not work so it will be totally key board driven. You want to hear something funny? Last month I had to change the boot device on someone's laptop. It was a long time since I was in Bios & totally forgot to use the arrow keys. So there I was tapping away at the stupid touch pad & wondering why I couldn't make any changes - talk about total brain fart - `hahahaha! However I did manage to fix their problem by running CHKDSK /R. Oh ya the parents of that kid should be made to pay the bill for all the resources that were used in that hoax! Those 2 babbies - lol! The little one should say something to the big one like " If anyone has something to cry about its me - after all you got most of my baby fat!" - hehehehe! As for big Bubby's formula - it might be cheaper to buy the cow or rent the milk truck - lol! June 30 TRUST!What is trust? Trust can mean a bunch of different things depending on how you apply it! What happens when a person brakes that trust? You loose faith & confidience in that person! You might begin to question yourself on how you could of misplaced that trust. Is there a chance of getting that trust back? Well that's up to you! Personally from me it would be no! Why should a person be given another opportunity to let you down? There's an old saying "Fool me once shame on you - fool me twice shame on me!" A person has to becareful when placing their trust in someone else! You should make sure that you REALLY know the person your placing your trust in! Trust is like respect - it is earned & not bestowed upon!

That's weird you weren't able to boot off the cd. Are you able to get into your Bios to set your boot device priority? I don't know where to find the settings for the network thing for Windows Live - I'll just have to hunt around until I find it - LOL! I used a different addy when I first created this space but I did find a way to send the invite withthe other one - hehe! The weather here hasn't been stellar either. There was a mixture of rain / sun & clould. June 19 OCC Bike Unveiled!Today the OCC Bike was unveiled as part of the fund raiser for the Northside Hospital Foundation! You can see the album called OCC Bike! Apparently this is a one of a kind bike on the east coast & one of the last to have all 3 Tuttles signatures on it! This is definetly a collector's bike for sure! Tickets are going for $40.00. Apparently this bike is worth $47,000 although personally I think its worth more than that but that's just me! It will be drawn on Aug 2nd as part of the Cape Breton Bike Fest - Thunder In The Highlands event! That bike sounded really good when it was fired up too! Unfortunately the organizers couldn't get the Tuttles here due to financial restrictions. The unveiling turned out a good crowd just the same! June 05 My Opinion on Internet Explorer 8!IE 8 SUCKS! Even turning off my firewall, antivirus & spyware removal program it was still really slow to open up! I waited until Microsoft pushed their lastest crappy browser thru windows update to try it. I should of unchecked it & said screw you MS! I don't really find it any faster like MS is claiming. I found IE 7 faster than IE 8 - pfft! It's no wonder Firefox is becoming more popular! For those of you who are still running IE 7 - DON'T upgrade to IE 8! I've uninstalled IE 8 and went back to IE 7! It should be noted that if you stalled IE 8 before you installed Service Pack 3 you will have to uninstalled SP3 first, then uninstall IE 8. Then you will have to reinstall SP3! However if you installed IE 8 after you installed SP3 then you can just uninstalled IE 8 with no problems. That's all I had to do!

I found IE 8 was a resource hog like Vista. The system requirements for IE 8 were a joke! You were wise to switch to another browser Bella 69 - lol! Get this he & every other senator in Ottawa will make $130,000.00 a year plus what ever their perks are. Those senators work less than 100 days & get paid that kind of money! Every senator there must be laughing all the way to the bank! So much for an elected senate that Harper said he would go for. Instead he appointed his senators just like other past parties in power have done! Why should Canadians keep his party in power when Harper keeps breaking his word? December 04 Sookie Baby Got What He WantedGov. Gen. Michaelle Jean agreed(I would like to her her reason for that!) to Harper’s request to shut down Parliament until he can present a budget around the end of January. Really I would of liked to see him get a vote of non-confidence & have another general election! However as much as I don't really care for the Liberals either they are the only other party to choose from. In order for the Liberals to be taken seiously they need to put a rush on their leader race & turf Dion asap! That guy couldn't even get his tape to the netorks on time & the quality of the video speaks for itself. The media were more focused on lateness & poor quality of the video than the content! It's understandle why the coalition is not being taken seriously with Dion at the helm! Apparently the coalition is still willing to over throw Harper even after he presents his budget next month. Time will tell if he will finally try to get along with the opposition parties or not! He's acting like someone going for a show down at the O.K. Corral. Except this time he didn't have the guts to show up! He told people in a national address earlier in the week he had it delayed until Dec. 8/2008 but of course that was a lie because he had no intentions of facing the music! It was reported last night by CTV's Lloyd Robertson & Robert Fife that if Harper didn't get his request to shut down Parliament that he was going to resign as Prime Minister! Now if that isn't a sookie baby then I don't know what is - pfft! October 15 No Suprise Here!In case no one had heard yet the Conservative Party got back in - unfortunately for the rest of us! For the ones who voted for Harper's party I hope you like the crappy copyright law that's going to be coming our way! Don't be suprised if you get sued for either downloading music or get fined $20,000.00 for by-passing digital locks! For example it will be illegal to make a back up copy of a DVD that you legally bought in a store because they will have a digital lock on it! That's only the tip of the ice burg of the new copyright law that the Conservatives will pass down on us all! While i'm no Liberal fan by any means either I hope they get off their ass to turf Dion & his carbon tax ASAP! Maybe if the Liberals & NDP merge they can turf the Conservatives in the next federal election!

Apparently he plans to re-introduce the same crappy changes to the copyright act! If you don't believe me then read this from cbc.ca. The Conservative Party of Canada is not the progressive one that it use to be in the past! This one is just a re-branded Reform Party with the same backward style of thinking! I don't care who anyone votes for but as long as they don't get a majority or even better that they get the boot!

September 07 YESSSSSSS!Thanks to an elecion call today Bill C-61 - An Act to amend the Copyright Act is dead because it never made it to the 3rd & final reading! I'm sure the CRIA & other interest groups are pretty ticked off! This is the 2nd time they came close to getting changes done to the copyright act so they can start suing everybody for downloading music. However after this election they will be even more aggressive in getting what they want done to the copyright act. I'm predicting that won't happen until sometime in 2009. Although I hope i'm wrong. I just hope they every Canadian citizen tells the politicans where they stand & what they want done to the copyright act when the politicans come knocking on their doors! I'm guessing the corporate music industry will be throwing lots of money to the political parties in order to swing them to their point of view. However its the voters the politicans better listen too because the corporate music industry will not be the ones electing or re-electing politicans. It is us the consumer that will be doing that!
If anyone see's Harper on the campaign trail ask him the following question - "Do you love Canada now?" Apparently its a real tough question for him to answer! The day after he toppled Martin's gov't when he ran the last time a reporter ask him if he loves Canada. Harper couldn't answer it - pfft! Yet people voted him to be Prime Minister - go figure! At least Dion said in his election speech today that he loves Canada! September 06 Shopping Around on SaturdayDid you ever go to any yard sales or a fleamarket before? If you didn't then you don't know what great deals your missing. Especially this day & age when a person needs to save where they can. You can find every thing & just about anything at them. I've gotten phones with caller ID built in & answering machines for a $1. I've picked up a mic for my pc that would cost around $10 - $12 at an electronic store but I got it for $1. I've sceen 19 inch tv's going for $10 & yes they work - lol! A few weeks ago I saw a coffee table with 2 end tables going for $10 & they were in good shape too! I've seen vcr's & dvd player's going between $5-$10. Heck i've even picked up a universal remote for $1-$2. When at a yard sale & find something that's a little too pricey then make a better offer to get a better deal! If a person was just starting out to live on there own then a yard sale in a great place to get stuff to furnish your place. I even saw a mini fridge & tires at a yard sale. Today for instance I went to a yard that was giving away plates, cups, saucers & other stuff for free. You can't beat good freebee's like that! Like the old saying goes "one person's junk is another person's treasure". September 03 Somebody Just Loves Those Glow SignsI took this photo about 1 or 2 months ago. As soon as I saw it I just had to get my camera - hehehe! The funny thing is that it was left that way for over a week - LOL! For those of you who don't see the funny in it or take an offence to it i do have a suggestion. Read the Parental Advisory on the top of this page instead of ratting my fanny out!
June 17 Count Down To LawsuitsLast week Christmas came early for the Canadian Recording Industry Association (CRIA) & other corporate interest groups. The Minister of Industry Jim Prentice tabled Bill C-61 - An Act to amend the Copyright Act in the House of Commons. It basically opens the doors for people to be sued if you download any copyrighted music & it try to by pass any digital locks on any devices or media. Jim Prentice said he had to find a balance between business & consumers. I would like to know what his definition of balance is. If anyone has been following what has been happening in the United States in regard to file sharing you know its not good. In the U.S the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) has been suing everybody from kids(yes - taking kids to court) to senior citizens. However some people have started to fight back & win! This is what I see happening when Bill C-61 becomes law. However not all musicans like this new bill. The Canadian Music Creators Coalition do not believe in suing thier fans which obviously makes good business sense! While I have no problem seeing an artist get paid orgizations like the CRIA should embrace this digital age instead of suing thier customers. There is a program that will be re-launching on June 18th that claims to be a legal P2P app! That program is called Qtrax. It has a few labels signed up, is ad supported & is free. Unfortunately anything that you download can't be burnt to a cd. However thier site said a person will able to transfer music onto Windows Media-capable portable devices in the near future. This type of program will be a good beginning if it can deliver on what it states on their site! So you see this is an example of what can happen you embrace the digital age instead of fighting it! Check out the You Tube video on what you can't do under this new law! May 20 Spelling Error or Prank?I saw this sign while I was out driving yesterday & went back today so I can get this picture - LOL! I can tell you that's not the store name. It should of said Granny's Country Cottage. Looks like someone decided to have a little fun by practising their spelling - hehehe! I'll bet a comedian could really have some fun with this - LOL!
